Technical Assistant

ZIGCAM SOUTH – LONDON OFFICE

We are seeking a Technical Assistant to join our team to help us continue to facilitate some of the biggest and best shows on television right now.

About Us

As a company we provide camera, lighting, audio and crewing services to a vast array of productions.

We have had the honour of being involved in award winning shows and highly rated primetime broadcasts on the BBC, ITV, C4, Netflix and Disney to name just a few. We pride ourselves on the service we provide and strive to make kit and crew hire a seamless experience for even the largest of productions.

We are a tight knit and hard working team who work closely and support each other in order to maintain a great working environment and make great TV.

About The Role

This role will evolve over time whilst you gain knowledge and experience of the inner workings of a camera facility and spend time on location.

You will work closely with the other members of our technical team to prepare equipment for our clients to an exceptionally high standard. This will include cameras and lenses, lighting and grip as well as audio equipment and the variety of additional items that make up a full rig.

With the support of our technical team and Operations Manager you will be responsible for ensuring kit standards, the preparation, check out and check in of all items that have been booked for a job whilst developing an in depth understanding of the kit itself. You will use our Rental Management Software so all items are tracked across opportunities and ensure stock levels are maintained.

You will be required to deliver to and collect kit from our clients in our vans to a schedule and maintain a professional and friendly demeanour when in client facing situations.

You will also be instrumental in the day to day running of our buildings and fleet of vans. Tasks will include maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across our site, especially in client facing areas; painting our infinity cove after use; ensuring vans are presentable before deliveries and even turning your hand to some DIY.

As you develop as a technician you will earn the opportunity to work on shoots. We provide a variety of crew to our clients from our in house staff including Data Wranglers, Lighting Technicians all the way through to Camera Assistants. Although your primary responsibilities will be in the kitroom these opportunities will be afforded to you, overseen initially by our in house DOP and senior members of staff.

About You

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of production equipment.

You will have a full and clean drivers licence and have experience driving vans.

You will ideally be based within easy reach of our Greenwich office and have experience in a similar role.
